Golfing-At-Wasatch-MountainThe most important part of any golf vacation is making tee time; if you don’t make your tee time then you will miss out on the chance to golf that particular course. Many factors go into making tee time the best part of your golf vacation, but nothing is more important than choosing a tee time that is best for you. Here are some tips to consider when making tee time.

Tip one:
When making your reservations for tee times you need to be aware of the fact that many golf resorts will give guests first priority for tee times, they usually have some openings left over, but they fill up quickly. So if you want to golf at a certain course that is part of a golf resort you should consider staying at the resort so you get the first choice of tee times. Keep in mind that golf resorts are usually more expensive then other hotels, but if your main agenda for your vacation is to play golf the extra cost might be worth a guaranteed tee time, remember you can always move to a cheaper hotel in a few days.

Tip two:
To get the tee times of your choice you should book ahead as far as possible. Your more popular courses will fill up faster, but even your less popular courses will fill up. When booking your tee times be sure to find out if the course has any rules for when they will make tee times, some course will only take reservations during certain days or certain hours. You should also find out how far in advance you can book tee times, some places offer reservations up to a year in advance. Another thing you need to find out is how the courses will accept reservations, some allow you to book online, others must be done in person, some can be over the phone, etc. Before you book your tee time you should also find out if you have to pay a deposit, pay in advance or if you can pay when you arrive for your tee time.

Tip three:
If you are golfing during the winter months you will have less tee times to choose from because of the shorter days, all courses like to give players plenty of time to finish their round of golf before it gets dark.

Tip four:
Tee times for single players are usually easier to get then tee times for groups of two or more, but you also need to keep in mind that if you are a single player you can get paired up with other golfers so that the courses can combine tee times and allow more people to play. Also some courses don’t allow single players to choose their own tee time; they have set tee times for single players which means you are told when to get their but might not get sent out right away.

Tip five:
The most important thing you need to do to make tee time the best part of your golf vacation is to reserve tee times of your choice. If you are a morning person and enjoy golfing in cooler weather you should book a tee time for as early as possible, but keep in mind that the grass may be damp and that can affect your game. If you prefer to play in the evening you can look to find tee times at courses that offer night golfing. Keep in mind that tee times in the morning fill up the fastest because nobody really wants to play golf in the heat of the day.

Tip six:
Another thing to keep in mind in choosing a tee time that is best for you is the location and layout of the golf course. If you are playing into the sun then you might want to wait for a later tee time so that the sun is behind you and not blinding you. The position of the sun can affect your game so you want to choose a tee time that works out best for the location and layout of the course.
