When you are planning a golf vacation you will run across many websites that offer golf vacation packages, which usually means that for one price you can get an all-inclusive golf vacation. But what you might not be aware of the fact that just because it states it is all inclusive not everything is covered. To find out what is covered and what costs extra you need to understand all of the fees that you might run across for a golf vacation and you must read the fine print to see what is included and what isn’t.
Here are some common fees that you might see in a golf vacation package.
Green fees:
These fees are the amount of money that each individual golf course will charge for you to play their course. Many times they are included in your golf vacation package if you are going to be staying at a golf resort that has its own private golf course. These fees will vary on the time of day you are playing, what day of the week you are playing and what level of golfer you are. Many times you can get discounted green fees through your golf vacation package.
Cart rental:
This is pretty much self explanatory. This is the price you are going to have to pay to rent a cart to travel around the golf course, if the course allows cart rentals. Keep in mind that golf cart fees vary depending on how many people are going on the trip and how many holes you are playing. This is why when you look at golf vacation packages a round of golf costs more for four players than for two players, not to mention the green fees cost more as well.
Accommodations:
This fee is charged for you to stay at a hotel or golf resort. It will cover the cost of all your lodging for the entire length of your stay and is always included in golf vacation packages.
Taxes:
Depending on where you are going for your golf vacation the amount of tax that is included will vary. But as most states have state sales tax the amount of the tax will be added onto your final price. If the state charges sales tax on food then you will have to pay that tax as well. To be on the safe side when you are looking at golf vacation packages you should find out whether tax is included or if you have to pay it separate. You will have taxes on rental cars, green fees, cart rentals and hotel accommodations.
Food:
Many golf vacation packages will include certain meals, such as two meals provided a day. This does not include the other meal, unless your hotel offers a free breakfast, or does it include snacks. These are paid for separately.
Courses:
This will include a list of golf courses that you are allowed to play at for your golf vacation. If you want extra golf courses you are going to have to pay that separately. Along with the list of golf courses you are going to play you will be told how many holes of golf you are able to play per day. The cost of the golf vacation package varies depending on how many holes and courses you wish to play.
The good thing about golf vacation packages is that if you understand the golf language you will know what is included and not included in your golf vacation package. Many golf vacation packages can be custom designed to fit your golfing needs. Just keep in mind that you should read the fine print to see what is included in your golf vacation package.
