Sites you must see when in Maui

195595You have so many options when going to Maui. You have the option of lying on the beach and bathing in the sun to going for a hike in the rugged out doors. What ever you decide to do while in Maui here are some sites you must see.

The 1st site you must see when in Maui is Haleakala National Park. This park is filled with so many things to do. Haleakala National park is well known for the world’s largest dormant volcano. Haleakala National park has over 27,000 acres that offers so many activities. There is hiking trails, and scenic overlooks that look over the park. Birdwatchers come here to look at rare Hawaiian forest birds. You can also camp inside the volcano’s crater.

The 2nd site you must see when in Maui is the Maui ocean center. Here is where you can take a look at Hawaii’s underworld. There is an aquarium that is state-of-the-art. It houses sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, eels, urchins, and a lot of other marine life.  The Maui ocean center even has a Whale Discovery Center where you can learn about the famous state Marine Mammal the humpback whale.

The 3rd site you must see when in Maui is the Kula Botanical Garden. Here you will find 2,000 plant species growing. One in particular that you will want to take a close look at is the Hawaiian hibiscus. This is a rare variety of the Hawaiian sandalwood tree. You can also take a guided tour through the Kula Botanical Garden by appointment so you make sure not to miss a thing.

The 4th site you must see when in Maui is the IAO Valley State Park (also known as “Yosemite of the Pacific” by Mark Twain) this park is one spot in Maui that is so breathtaking. You can follow the paths that are maintained down to the center of the valley where you will find a stone pillar that is called “The Needle” that rises up more than 1,200 feet above the valley. If you opt to take the lower path you will be lead down to the river that is a swimming hole to a lot of people.

The 5th site you must see when in Maui is the Oheo Gulch. Oheo Gulch is part of Haleakala National Park. Oheo Gulch is hard to get to but it is worth the work. You will be able to see the most beautiful sites in all of Maui. There are spectacular waterfalls some falling more than 100 feet. They fall from a number of glistening pools below.  You can hike and bath in the sun while enjoying the spectacular scenery all around you.

The 6th site you must see when in Maui is the Tedeschi Vineyards. They have been producing champagne and pineapple wines for over 30 years. You can take a 25 minute tour of the winery and then go on over to the kings cottage where you can do some wine tasting in the tasting room. If you fall in love with a wine you can take it home with you. They have bottles available for sale.

There are many places to and go see. These are just some of the sites you must see when in Maui. Make sure to make a list of everything you are interested in so you can make and itinerary of what days you want to see what.
